Ten Beautiful Things by Molly Beth Griffin - 10/10

This story is a stunning portrayal of learning to live and love again after loss - but can also be appreciated simply as a call to embrace gratitude in the everyday.

During a road trip to her new home, Lily's grandmother invites her to compile a list of ten beautiful things they find along the way. Beginning somewhat skeptically, Lily gradually learns to see beauty in unexpected places and ultimately realizes that this new approach helps her to deal with some of her emptiness and hope again.

*I don't think that the tragedy that befell her is ever spelled out (though it seems pretty significant - she is leaving her home to start a new life with an extended relative) so there is room for wide relatability.
