An original fable about the strength of community and the magic we create when we work together.
When the young new prince's magical robe is stolen and destroyed, he loses heart and despairs of the task of protecting his kingdom, but the people find scraps of the original material and create a new garment combining what they can collect with scraps that were precious to them. This new patchwork teaches the prince that his power comes not only from his office, but from his people.
*I was a bit bothered by how quickly the prince gives up when he realizes that the robe is gone (he doesn't even try to see what he might be able to do with the help of his advisors), but I think that the story was overall well-executed and the ending was particularly powerful.
