A magical tale about the importance of family and second chances.
After her cousin Duke's nose transforms into a rhinoceros horn, Claire is thrust into the magical world of trolls and fairies that lies just beneath the surface of their riverside hometown as she tries to find a way to rescue Duke from himself and bring him back home. Along the way, she continues to find beauty and hope in the most unexpected places and uncovers a startling secret about the town and her family.
*While this story is ultimately about second chances, its plot hinges on the presence of bullies - most notably Duke (they are the ones in need of redemption) - and does have some dark moments (like tales of child eating trolls). I think the tone is overall one of humor and hope, and the main character, while steadfastly loyal to her cousin, is quite purehearted, but it's worth mentioning nonetheless.
